Sheikh Bilal Khan is the recipient of multiple industry awards and the first Islamic Scholar to be recognized as a Freeman of the City of London. He was invited to feature in the television series ‘Secrets of Success’ as part of 20 London-based personalities. Sheikh Bilal is uniquely positioned as both an English qualified lawyer from a ‘Magic Circle’ law firm and a respected Shari'ah Scholar with several qualifications including an MBA.
After memorising the Holy Qur’an at the age of 12 and learning extensively with leading Islamic scholars, Sheikh Bilal has gained many years of Shari'ah law experience with practical focus on structuring and drafting first-of-their-kind Shari'ah-compliant financial products as well as delivering executive training programs for government and private sector in the UK and across the globe.
In his government business ambassadorial role as UKTI Catalyst, Sheikh Bilal is promoting UK excellence internationally and the City of London in particular as a leading Islamic finance hub. He is a Special Adviser to the Chairman of the Middle East Association, working in close collaboration with the UKTI, the Foreign Office and The City of London Corporation and has been part of trade and diplomatic missions to strengthen strategic relationships between the UK and the Islamic countries. Sheikh Bilal is also Vice Chairman of the International Panel of Mosaic (The Prince of Wales Trust) which conducts the International Leadership Program for young Muslim leaders from 80 countries.
He frequently chairs and speaks at international conferences and round-tables and is regularly contributing to industry journals and publications as well as being quoted in the mainstream international and pan-Arab media.
